Jackson Addresses Season Ticket Holders At Seattle Storm Game

Aug. 28, 2009

SEATTLE - Head women's basketball coach Tia Jackson addressed a crowd of over 50 season ticket holders and Fast Break club members Thursday night at the WNBA Seattle Storm vs. Connecticut Sun game in Key Arena.

Jackson told the assembled fans that the Huskies have a tough non-conference schedule this season and that they need more support than ever before. Jackson called the fans to action, telling them, 'We need more purple in the stands than red' at the Seattle U. game on Dec. 9.

She was also pleased to report that Washington got three commitments last month, but could not elaborate, due to NCAA regulations.

Jackson feels that this year's team will be improved over last year's, citing the huge offensive impact she expects redshirt junior center Regina Rogers to have. She also mentioned that sophomore center/forward Mackenzie Argens is out of her brace and that sophomore forward Liz Lay has dropped over 25 pounds.

Coach Jackson was joined at the event by senior guard Sami Whitcomb, sophomore guard/forward Kristi Kingma and Rogers.

Season tickets are available at the Husky ticket office by calling 206-543-2200 or by visiting GoHuskies.com.
