Hey Wildcat Fans. Well, I know it has only been a week since I talked to you last, but so many things have happened for us. I guess I will just start at the beginning.
Monday marked the official start of classes for us, and unfortunately just more responsibility added to our ever full plates. With the addition of homework and missing class for travel trips, time management becomes more and more critical to our survival during the fall. Luckily the first week of class is simply finding when and where you have to be and testing out our classes to see if they are what we want to take.
We also had an all athlete barbecue on Monday the 24th. Everyone in the athletics department was there to welcome each other back and enjoy some great food together before we all become so busy with our own lives and sports. It is always a fun way to kick of the year and of course we never turn down free food! HAHA
This weekend we competed in Louisville, that’s right, all the way back to the Midwest. Home to Jacy and oh so close to my hometown of Indianapolis, our families came out in droves to support the Cats. And it came at the perfect time! The first night we swept Louisville in hostile territory on their home floor. The next morning we also swept Belmont, before going a perfect 3-0 for the weekend with our final win over Pitt in 4 games.
We are very happy with our first weekend of play, but we know we have a lot of work ahead of us. One weekend definitely does not make a season, but it is a good start for us. We head back to Tucson today, and we are ready to be back in our own time zone and get some downtime. Preseason is so rough with how many matches we have to play in just a few days.
We are home this weekend for a preseason tournament of our own, and we are ready to take to our home court and defend it with everything we’ve got. We really hope to see you all out sporting your best Red and Blue! Until next time, this is #34, signing out!
