Chris Owusu Named Pac-10 Special Teams Player of the Week

STANFORD, Calif. - Chris Owusu was named the Pac-10 Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week today for his performance in Stanford's season-opening victory Saturday at Washington State, in which he returned three kickoffs for 143 yards (47.7 average).
Included among his returns was an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter, which gave the Cardinal a 29-10 lead at the 10:52 mark. It marked the first kickoff return for a touchdown by a Stanford player since T.J. Rushing accomplished the feat against Notre Dame in 2005.
Owusu also caught a 63 yard touchdown pass from Andrew Luck in the second quarter, giving the Cardinal a 15-3 lead.
Stanford will travel to Winston-Salem, NC this week to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 12 noon ET. The game will be broadcast live on KNBR 1050 and will also be available on DirectTV, DISH Network, ESPN's College Game Plan and ESPN360.com.
