ITA Announces Division I Men's Preseason Rankings

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The Pac-10 has 17 players ranked in the recently released ITA Division I preseason singles rankings, including two in the top 10. Seven doubles teams are also ranked, including two in the top 10.

STANFORD leads the Conference with five players in the rankings followed by USC and UCLA with four. Then ARIZONA has two players ranked CALIFORNIA and WASHINGTON each have one player listed.

USC's Robert Farah is rated at No. 3, the highest Pac-10 player ranked. Farah, the reigning Pac-10 Men's Tennis Player of the Year, led the Trojans to the national championship last season while playing the No. 1 positions in both singles and doubles. Farah and fellow Trojan Steve Johnson are ranked No. 3 in the doubles rankings.

For the Cardinal, it returns Alex Clayton ranked No. 7 and Bradley Klahn, the ITA Rookie of the Year last season, who is ranked No. 15. Both were members of the 2009 All-Pac-10 team. Klahn and teammate Ryan Thacher are ranked No. 8 in doubles.
