Softball to Make A Stop on Sparky's Tour

Sept. 10, 2009

TEMPE, Ariz. - For the second stop on the 2009 Sparky Tour members of the ASU Softball Team will be making a stop over at Gililland Middle School in Tempe to speak with students on the importance of academics in success in life and athletics as well as how positive choices made now can affect them the rest of their lives.

During the 2009-2010 school year Sparky's Tour will make appearances at schools beginning the first week of September and continuing through the end of May. Sparky's Tour will continue to feature ASU coaches, administrators and student-athletes emphasizing the importance of education, and that everyone has the ability to be successful if they work hard, focus and follow the rules. Coaches and student-athletes have been through the same struggles that current students face. Utilizing speakers that students can relate to reinforces what teachers and administrators are helping their students to learn.
