Pac-10 Squads Top Golfweek's 2009-2010 Men's Preseason Polls

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.- Golfweek magazine recently released their men’s golf preseason polls, and STANFORD stands atop the rankings at No. 1. while WASHINGTON was tabbed at No. 3 and ARIZONA STATE came in at No. 5. 

Stanford finished the 2008-2009 season fifth in the final rankings and will look to make it to the top in 2009-10 behind junior Steve Ziegler, who is rated No. 7 on the individual preseason rankings.  The Cardinal will also look for production from junior  Sihwan Kim and senior Joseph Bramlett, who is coming off a wrist injury.

The Huskies come in at No. 3 with a strong squad behind the leadership of senior Nick Taylor, ranked third individually by Golfweek.  Along with Taylor are experienced seniors Richard Lee and 2009 Pac-10 champion, senior Darren Wallace, who will all look to have a stellar year in 2009-10.

Coming in at No. 5 are the Sun Devils who have depth from top to bottom with four players being named All-Americans in 2009.  The squad will be led by sophomore Chan Kim who, looks to break away from the pack in the upcoming season and establish himself as the number one golfer for ASU. 

The Pac-10 has four more squads ranked in the top 25 with UCLA at No. 15, USC coming in at No. 16, OREGON at No. 22 and CALIFORNIA rounding out the Pac-10 in the rankings at No. 24.
