Augustus and Cossou to Participate in 18th Annual Alta Bates Summit Celebrity Classic Tennis Tournament

BERKELEY - California women's tennis head coach Amanda Augustus and junior Marina Cossou will take part in the 18th Annual Alta Bates Summit Celebrity Classic Tennis Tournament Saturday (Sept. 26) at the historic Berkeley Tennis Club. Former Golden Bears Stephanie Kusano ('08) and Cristina Visico ('08) are also slated to play in the event. Men's tennis assistant coach Tyler Browne will also take part in exhibition matches.

The all-day tournament will feature Bob and Mike Bryan (the Bryan Brothers) in an exhibition match at 2 p.m. There will be three levels of play in a round robin doubles format in which sponsored players will play doubles tennis with and against well-known local tennis pros as well as sports and media celebrities.

Tickets are $20 each for the general public. Children under the age of 10 receive free admission. As a special promotion, twins who attend the event can purchase one ticket and receive a second ticket free. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit

The Bears open the fall tournament season as hosts of the Cal Nike Invitational, Oct. 2-4. Singles players and doubles teams from around the country will compete in the annual three-flight tournament at the Hellman Tennis Complex. Please visit for more information and updates.
