Stanford Moves Into Second at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

REDMOND, Wash. - The Stanford women's golf team shot a second round score of 301 today to move into second place at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington at the Sahalee Country Club in Redmond, Wash.

Stanford's team score was the lowest round turned in on the second day of the tournament.

The Cardinal will enter tomorrow's final round 10 strokes off the pace set by first place California and four strokes ahead of third place Pepperdine.

Freshman Sally Watson led the Cardinal's second round surge, as she carded an even par 72 today to move into a tie for fifth place. She trails individual leader Pia Halberg of Cal by three shots. Watson birdies 17 and 18 and had a total of six birdies on her card today in shooting her best round of her young collegiate career.

Freshman Kristina Wong shot a 75 today after yesterday's round of 76 and finds herself in 10th place.

Senior Angela King is tied for 14th after shooting a four over 76 today.

Sophomore Sydney Burlison is tied for 19th after a second round 78, while junior Rebecca Durham is tied for 22 after a second consecutive 78.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes tomorrow at the Sahalee Country Club.
