Oct. 9, 2009

LOS ANGELES--The Arizona women's soccer squad dropped a 2-0 decision to UCLA Friday night at UCLA's Drake Stadium.

Redshirt senior Devon Wharf, back in the net after sitting out the LMU match due to a minor knee injury, had six saves on the night, compared to UCLA's two.

Two Cats had their debut Friday night, sophomore Brooke Harrison, and red shirt freshman Brittany Cole.

'It's great to welcome them back into the game.' Said head coach Dan Tobias on the debuts, 'They're going to be a big help to us in these next few games.'

'We did a very good job on keeping UCLA out of rhythm tonight. Despite the mistakes that led to UCLA's goals, I felt that we did a very good job at following our game plan, and we can take what we learned tonight a use it to help prepare for Sunday's match at USC.'

The Wildcats will kick off against the Trojans on Sunday at 1 pm.
