Dear Gym Devil Diary: Kaitlynn Bormann

Dear Gym Devil Diary,
Another week has gone by and it has been another productive, fun-filled, and exciting one. The hard work and improvements are still at play in the gym as well as with our studies. We had our first pressure situations this week and they went very well. The success during them were just hints of proof of how the team is preparing for a great season. They also tell us season is coming closer and closer which is extremely exciting to think about. Each workout there was a lot of talk about our team camping trip coming up, making it something we were eagerly looking forward to.
The second the team was done with classes and study hall on Friday, it was on to the drive for the trip. We took a few cars down to Fossil Springs, just north of Payson. We knew how cold it was going to be, so we brought numerous layers of clothes on to put on (something we're definitely not used to!) Indeed, it was pretty chilly but the team hung out by the campfire, barbequed some chicken for dinner, and made delicious s'mores. I had a lovely run-in with a mouse and Nicki's scarf accidentally caught on fire! Thankfully, she didn't panic and got the scarf off and the fire out. All in all, it was a great team bonding experience and a fun time although everyone was excited to drive back to the warmth of Tempe!
The freshmen had to wake up early this morning to help volunteer at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. As a senior I remember participating in that and having so much fun doing it. It's a great feeling volunteering especially for an event like that and I'm glad the freshmen get to experience it each year.
Being a senior, I'm definitely taking everything one day at a time and cherishing and loving every moment. So I'm looking forward to another awesome week with a home football game against Washington on Saturday to be pumped for. That seems to be all for now... can't wait to see all you fans at our meets!
