Golfers Tie for Fourth in the Desert

The 15th-ranked UCLA men's golf team tied for fourth place at The Prestige at PGA West Tuesday in LaQuinta, Calif.

The Bruins posted a team score of 293 (+5) for a 54-hole total of 872 (+8), 22 shots behind TCU, which won the event with a 14-under par score of 850. Top-ranked Stanford was the runner-up at 866 (+2), followed by No.4 Washington at 869 (+5). The Bruins tied with USC.

Individually, the Bruins received an outstanding performance from freshman Pedro Figueiredo, who captured second place with a three-round total of 210 (-6) after posting a 70 (-2) in the final round. Sophomore Gregor Main posted a 71 (-1) on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 18th with a 54-hole score of 219 (+3). Sophomore Alex Shi Yup Kim tied for 26th at 221 (+5) following a 75 (+3) in the final round. Freshman Pontus Widegren and Mario Clemens tied for 42nd and 47th, respectively. Widegren posted a 78 (+6) and finished at nine-over par 225. Clemens signed for a 77 (+5) and was at 226 (+10).

Freshman Bobby Lange and sophomore Beau Schoolcraft, playing as individuals, finished 72nd and tied for 75th, respectively. Lange posted a 75 (+3) on Tuesday, his best score of the tournament.

TCU's Daniel Jennevret won medalist honors with a three-round total of 204 (-12).
