COUGAR COACH Pete Julian's TAKE ON THE PRE NATIONALS: 'Like I've said before, I think this is one of the strongest men's teams that we've had and the training has been fantastic over the past couple of weeks,' WSU coach Pete Julian said. 'I think we have a really strong team in terms that our sixth and seventh man is as good as our first. In a meet like Pre-Nats, where you have eighty teams that are split into two races, having a solid fourth and fifth man becomes really advantageous, even more so than having another guy up front. If we can finish in the top ten in our race, you're looking at a top 25 team in the country and I feel that we are that good. For the women's team, we're still waiting for a couple of runners to get healthy but we are looking stronger every day. We have some great front-runners on the women's side with Lisa and Chelsea and I expect the whole women's team to finish quite strong.'

NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS: The Cougar men's cross country team is ranked 10th in the West Region in the October 12, 2009, Division I Cross Country Regional Rankings...West Region rankings include Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, and Idaho...the women's team is not ranked.
