Women's Golf Team Travels to Iowa

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State women's golf team is traveling across the country to play in the annual Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, the farthest away from Pullman the Cougars will travel this season. Play will begin with 36 holes on Saturday (Oct. 17) with tee times starting at 8 a.m.

The Course: The par-72 Finkbine Golf Course will be the site for the Invitational.The Field: The 13-team field will also include Ball State, Drake, Illinois, Illinois State, Iowa, Iowa State, Kennesaw State, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Oakland, Sacramento State and South Dakota State.

Traveling for WSU: The squad for this week will include junior Allison Travis, sophomore Kristen Allard and freshmen Ali Thompson, Emma Betland and Ellen Park.

Last Time Out: The team finished 10th last week at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Seattle hosted by Washington. The Cougars posted a three-round total of 966 (+102), only one stroke back from border rival Idaho. Freshman Ali Thompson was the low score for the team in her third consecutive collegiate event, carding a 251 (+21) finish tied for in 31st with teammate Kristen Allard.
