Inbar Moves into Quarters at ITA Regionals

Malibu, Calif. - UCLA junior men's tennis player Amit Inbar continued his run at the ITA West/South Regionals at Pepperdine University on Saturday, posting yet another singles win to reach the quarterfinals.

The ninth-seeded Inbar began the day with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Pepperdine's Daniel Moss in the round of 16. Inbar then pulled off an upset in the next round, taking down fifth-seeded Jaak Poldma of USC, 6-1, 6-2.

UCLA's other two players were upset in singles action on Saturday. After winning his round of 32 match over LMU's Otto Sauer, 6-2, 6-2, Nick Meister was beaten in the round of 16 by SDSU's Achim Ceban, 6-3, 6-2.

Matt Brooklyn, the tournament's No. 3 seed, also fell on Saturday, losing to Arizona's Andres Carrasco, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.

The Bruins do not have any doubles teams still alive in the tournament.
