Troy Drops To Eighth At Fall Preview

Senior Belen Mozo and junior Lizette Salas are tied for 16th to lead the No. 6 USC women's golf team, which fell from first on the second day of the 2009 UNCW Fall Preview at the Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course in Wilmington, N.C., on Saturday (Oct. 24).

USC led at par after 18 holes, but slipped to eighth at 21-over 597 (288-309) after the second round. UCLA leads at 7-over 583 with Wake Forest second at 15-over 591 and Arizona State third at 16-over 592.

Salas (72-75) and Mozo (71-76) are tied for 16th at 3-over 147. Both were 1-over through 13 holes, but finished a combined 5-over over the final combined eight holes.

Sophomore Inah Park had an up-and-down front 9, scratching to 4-over and finished the back 9 with all pars to finish tied for 26th at 4-over 148 (72-76).

Senior Caroline Kim is tied for 56th at 11-over 155 (73-82) while senior Stefanie Endstrasser is tied for 68th at 14-over 158 (75-83).

Action concludes Sunday.
