Bradford, Williams Named Pac-10 Players Of The Week

Oct. 26, 2009

Tailback Allen Bradford and wide receiver Damian Williams were named the Pac-10 Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for the performances against Oregon State.

Bradford had a career-high and game-best 147 yards on 15 carries (9.8 yards per carry) with 2 TDs (2 and 43 yards) in USC's 42-36 home win over the Beavers.

Williams returned a pair of punts for 68 yards (including a 63-yard TD) against Oregon State and also had 6 receptions for 58 yards. It was his second scoring punt return of the season, as he also had a 66-yarder at California (he was also the Pac-10 Special Teams Player of the Week following that game). His 2 scoring punts returns in 2009 are the most by a Trojan since Reggie Bush had 2 in 2004 and he's just 1 shy of the school season record (set by Jim Sears in 1952). Williams currently is fourth nationally in punt returns (18.0, first in Pac-10).

Joining Bradford and Williams as Pac-10 Players of the Week this week was Arizona safety Cam Nelson (defense).

Trojans have now been named Pac-10 Players of the Week 6 times in 2009. In addition to Bradford and the 2 honors for Williams, the others are tailback Joe McKnight (for his showing at Ohio State), safety Taylor Mays (California) and defensive tackle Jurrell Casey (Notre Dame).
