Get To Know The Beavs: Eisha Sheppard

Eisha Sheppard comes to Oregon State this season after spending the 2008-09 campaign at San Bernadino Valley College. Sheppard is a native of San Bernadino, and played her prep years at Victor Valley High School. She can be seen wearing No. 10 for the Beavers this season.

WHO: Eisha is a junior college transfer who has the chance to contribute immediately. She was named an All-American as a freshman in JC ball and an all-state player as a sophomore. Eisha has a knack for high-percentage shots which adds to high scoring totals. She also has a penchant for assists and has provided quality numbers on the boards.
WHERE SHE COMES FROM: Eisha spent the 2008-09 season at San Bernadino Valley College, where she was named second-team all-state. As a sophomore, she helped guide San Bernadino VC to a 21-12 overall record. Eisha played in 31 games and shot 56.1 percent from the field while averaging 14.2 points per game. She totaled 124 assists (four per game) and averaged 5.7 rebounds.
Her spectacular season at San Bernadino came a year after starring at a junior college in Nebraska. That JC happened to be Southeast Community College, where Eisha played in 28 games. She averaged 21.5 points per game en route to being named an All-American. To further show this was a good selection, she grabbed six rebounds per game and shot 55.6 percent from the field. She also averaged 2.7 steals and 2.6 assists.
Prior to her two years at the JC level, Eisha lettered for four years at Victor Valley High School. Eisha earned all-league honors her junior and senior seasons. She averaged 24 points per game her senior season to go along with three steals, two assists and seven rebounds, on average.
She was also an excellent athlete in tennis and track, lettering one year in both. In tennis, she played doubles matches and ran the 100 and 200 in track and field.
WHO SHE IS: Eisha was born in San Bernadino, Calif., but considers Victorville, Calif., her hometown. She is the daughter of DeAnna Burnett and Robby Sheppard and has two sisters, Katherine, 22, and Neisha, 19, and one brother, Tony, 25. Neisha and Eisha are twins. Eisha is majoring in liberal studies. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, writing poetry, general writing and listening to music. Her favorite summer movie is Love and Basketball. What city is Eisha's favorite? She lists it as San Francisco. Eisha says she wants to see Miami. On a day off, Eisha enjoys listening to music and talking with friends and family. Before games, she has to pray and listen to music. Her dream jobs would be to play in the WNBA and coach basketball. Lastly, Eisha chose Oregon State because she likes her teammates and the coaches.
