Oct. 26, 2009

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's soccer team, which defeated No. 9 USC on Friday, climbed back into the national polls this week as the Beavers check in at No. 25 in the nation in the latest poll released by Soccer America. It marks the second time this season Oregon State (10-5-1 overall, 2-3 Pac-10) has entered the national rankings.

Senior Red Nixon led the way for Oregon State in the victory over USC as the midfielder scored the game winning-goal to lead the Beavers to their first win over the Women of Troy since the 1994 season.

Nixon also recorded an assist in the victory as the performance landed her on College Soccer's Primetime Performance of the Week squad.

Oregon State returns to action this weekend as the Beavers host nationally-ranked Washington State on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m.
