Oct. 30, 2009

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State senior women's soccer student-athletes Kiersten Dallstream and Maggie Dougher were named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA District VIII All-Academic Teams, Friday.

Dallstream, a wildlife ecology major with a 3.36 grade point average, was selected to the second team. Dougher was a third team honoree and carries a 3.79 GPA in movement studies. It is the first district honor for both student-athletes.

A native of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Dallstream leads the Cougars with 13 goals and 31 points this season. In her career, the forward ranks on the WSU top 10 lists in goals (third, 30), points (third, 74), multiple-goal matches (third, 6), game-tying/go-ahead goals (third, 15), game-winning goals (tied-third, 7), shots (fourth, 189) and assists (tied-fifth, 14).

Dougher is a defender from Scottsdale, Ariz., and has appeared in 75 matches, including 73 starts, during her Cougar career. Both those numbers are tied for fifth all-time at WSU and are three shy of the respective school records. Earlier this season against Seattle, she netted her first-career goal.
