Ishimatsu, Jones Kick Off Trojan Diving Invite

USC sophomores Harrison Jones and Victoria Ishimatsu won the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards, respectively, during the first session of the 2009 Trojan Diving Invitational on Friday (Nov. 6) at USC's McDonald's Swim Stadium.

Ishimatsu, a 2009 All-American, earned first a score of 344.00, nicely ahead of second-place Hannah Bosksnick of Hawaii (322.65).

USC sophomore Michela Fossati-Bellani was 11th (226.65).

Jones, a two-time All-American last year, finished first on 1-meter with 370.00, edging Stanford's Dwight Dumais (360.00). Dumais was first in prelims with 351.60 while Jones had 340.00.

Trojan juniors Steven Starks (297.90) and Greg Miller (262.00) finished fourth and fifth, respectively while sophomore Robbie Taylor was 12th.

The men's and women's platform is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. later today.

On Saturday, the men's 3-meter and women's 1-meter prelims begin at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 11:15 a.m.
