O'Hara's Hat Trick Completes Perfect Regular Season

Nov. 8, 2009

STANFORD, Calif. - Senior forward Kelley O'Hara scored a hat trick to shatter Stanford's season goal-scoring record while leading the Cardinal to a 4-1 victory over rival California on Sunday. No. 1 Stanford completed its first perfect regular season and, with the victory, won the Pacific-10 title outright, its first conference championship since 2002.

The Cardinal (20-0, 9-0) earned the first perfect regular season in Pac-10 history while O'Hara broke and distanced herself from Sarah Rafanelli's previous Stanford record of 20 goals in a season. O'Hara now has 23 and has a chance to add to her total when the Cardinal begins NCAA Tournament play on Friday.

The NCAA field will be announced Friday at 5 p.m. on ESPNews.

More information, and comments, will be posted shortly.
