Will Harris Named Pac-10 Defensive Player Of Week

Nov. 9, 2009

USC safety Will Harris was named the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in USC's win at Arizona State.

Harris had two interceptions, returning the first 55 yards for a touchdown. The other pick came in the end zone on the game's final play. He also posted 5 tackles (4 were solo) and had a deflection. The Trojan defense forced 4 ASU turnovers, including 3 interceptions.

Joining Harris as Pac-10 Players of the Week were a pair of players from Stanford: tailback Toby Gerhart (offense) and placekicker Nate Whitaker (special teams).

Trojans have now been named Pac-10 Players of the Week 7 times in 2009. In addition to Harris, the others are tailback Joe McKnight (for his showing at Ohio State), safety Taylor Mays (California) and defensive tackle Jurrell Casey (Notre Dame), wide receiver Damian Williams (California and Oregon State) and tailback Allen Bradford (Oregon State).
