Wildcat Women Top UCLA

Tucson, Ariz. – The Arizona women’s swimming and diving teams continued their dual meet success today as they remain undefeated in their dual meets so far this season. The Wildcat women defeated UCLA 176-123 at the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.
The Wildcats began their afternoon off well with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Arizona’s ‘A’ team won with a time of 1:42.91.
After winning four events yesterday, including the 100-yard backstroke, senior Ana Agy won the event again with an impressive time of 53.97. Agy holds the record in the event with a time of 51.13.
Junior Susana Helms had a productive day winning both the 1,000 and 500 freestyle events. The Tucson native had a time of 10:06:81 in the 1,000 and a time of 4:53:76 in the 500, respectively.
Leone Vorster was also a double event winner against the Bruins. The senior from Pietersburg, South Africa picked up wins in the 200 and 50 freestyle events. She won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.05 and the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.67.
For the second day in a row, Annie Chandler swept both breastroke events. The senior won the 100 breast in 1:02:35 and beat the Bruins in the 200 breast with a time of 2:15:99.
The Arizona women’s divers had an impressive day at the Kasser Family Pool. Ainsley Oliver swept both of the events, sweeping both the one-meter and the three-meter events. The sophomore won the one-meter event with a score of 257.10 and the three-meter event with a score of 272.33 after finishing third yesterday against USC. The Wildcats other diver, freshman Ashley Herrera finished in fourth place in the one-meter and fifth in the three-meter event.
