Nov. 16, 2009

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington native Mallory Kent (Seattle) signed a National Letter of Intent last week to play golf for Washington State beginning in 2010-11, head coach Kelli Kamimura announced.

'Mallory will be a great addition to the team,' Kamimura said 'I am very excited that she has chosen to be a Cougar and look forward to watching her succeed on and off the golf course.'

Kent has had a very successful high school career playing under coach Eric Fletcher at Foster High School. She has been the golf team captain all four years, attending state each season and finishing second in both her sophomore and junior years. Kent led her team to four consecutive undefeated seasons and league championships. She never lost an individual match and has won four-straight league Most Valuable Player awards.
