Head Coach Joanne Boyle

'We're happy to come away with the win. It was not pretty we probably played our best basketball the last seven of minutes of the game. Some people stepped up in the situation. I think much of the game we were rattled. We had a lack of poise. With a young team, you expect that offensively. We have to get better at that. We were getting stops and creating in transition, but we have to set up in quarter court and execute, we have to know what we are looking for. Stay poised. Know the plays. We didn't do any of that tonight.'

'Our freshmen need to know what we are running. We would make two passes and then one of the freshmen would try to win the game in that moment by driving or just chuck up the ball without looking at the basket. We have to remain poised. Everybody was, not selfishly, just trying to hit the home run, but we need to run our stuff with better ball movement.'

'The freshmen are coachable and they want to do so much. But they are thinking, thinking what do I need to do in this play, and they are not playing. They don't know half the time what they are looking for. If we can get that curve going a little bit, that will definitely help.'

'Layshia scored 3,000 points in high school. The girl can score, I promise you. Like the other freshmen, she just came out and was a little nervous the first couple of times, but she really wants the ball. You can tell. She is not shy. Of all the freshmen, she is the one who is like 'Give me the ball'. She is not afraid to do it. I think tonight she just sort of settled in. She's been under the lights a couple of times now. She looked more comfortable. She is going to have to score for us. She wants to. She was thinking too much early on, but she took a great shot there at the end. Layshia she wanted it.'

Senior guard Natasha Vital

'We need to regain our focus. Talk to each other and go into practice and be able to do the little things. Be more poised on the offensive end. Stay aggressive is a big piece of it. Being a captain, it is my responsibility to talk to the team and talk about the little things. We just didn't do any of the little things right tonight. The score reflected that.'

'It is just a learning curve for the freshmen to come in from high school and immediately have to try to play at the college level. It is a very different level from high school. They really listen and they are very open to learning. They are very coachable.'

Senior Guard Alexis Gray-Lawson

'We have to play like we are playing Baylor every night. We can;t just wait for them to get here to play like we are playing Baylor. We, the upperclassmen, and the freshmen need to come together and find a way to emulate that every day.'

'It was a frustrating night for me. I shouldn't have been frustrated. Tasha and I always talk about letting things come to me. Me and Tasha had a talk on the bench. We said that the second half was a different game and even if I can't make shots, I need to make sure I play defense. So that was what I was trying to do, the little things to make my team better.'

'The freshmen really listen. I've been there. As a freshman, you don't know what you don't know. Everything we've asked of them, they have done. We just need to get better and work on that court chemistry.'
