Mara, Callahan Earn All-Academic Nods

Pac-10 Complete Release Get Acrobat Reader

TUCSON - UA junior Jordan Mara wrapped up his third season of competition by being named to the Pac-10 All-Academic first team released by the conference Thursday.

The Canadian native out of South Surrey, British Columbia attended White Rock Christian Academy.  He was a member of the Pac-10's second team last season as well.

Mara carries a 3.67 GPA and is currently majoring in Marketing.  This is Mara's third academic award after being named to the Mount Pacific Sports Federations All-Academic team during the last track and field season as well.

On the women's side, junior Maggie Callahan continued to show that she is an all-around student athlete by earning Honorable Mention acolades for the conference. 

Callahan, who has been the driving force in leading the Wildcats to their first National Championship appearence in eight years on the track, has proved that she can accomplish just as much off the track.

The Fairbanks, Alaska native out of West Valley High School is also no stranger to academic awards, having been named to the Pac-10's All-Academic Track and Field Team last season as an honorable mention and was part of the Mount Pacific Sports Fedation All-Academic team as well.
