Women's Swimming Continues at Toshiba Classic.

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Oregon State women's swim team continued competition Friday at the Toshiba Classic in Long Beach, Calif. and hosted by UC San Diego.

The Beavers currently sit in 16th place out of 24 teams with 105 points. The big event of the day for the team was the 800 freestyle relay where the team of Lisa Chewning, Amy Herbst, Ivette Dailey-Deaton, and Amanda Rose finished 12th, earning 30 team points, with a time of 7:51.10.

Chewning also finished 24th in the 100 breaststroke with a final time of 1:06.62 which is her best time of the season beating her previous mark of 1:07.67 set at the University of the Pacific Invitational in October.

Oregon State also earned points in the 200 medley relay where the team of Margo Clinton, Chewning, Rachel Polack, and Ashley Kerekanick finished with a final time of 1:52.68.

Tomorrow sees the conclusion of competition of this year's classic with teams competing in the 1650 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, 400 Freestyle Relay.
