Diving Concludes Fall Schedule for Swim Teams

TUCSON, Ariz.-- Meg Hostage was second and Brent Eichenseer was third in the platform on the final day of the Wildcat Diving Invite, closing out the fall schedule for the men's and women's swim programs, both ranked No. 2 nationally in the first poll of the season.

Hostage completed a solid three-day performance, where she won the three-meter with a score of 298.15 after finishing seventh in the prelims, finished second to Arizona State's Elina Aggers (284.50) in the platform, and was fifth in the one-meter (267.55).

For Eichenseer, he too reached three finals, finishing third in the platform with a score of 295.35, after a second place showing in the three-meter (364.60) and sixth place finish in the one-meter (298.75).

Carmen Stellar was the third Cardinal diver for Dr. Rick Schavone to reach all three finals, placing third in Sunday's platform with a score of 230.05, and fifth (274.65) in the three-meter and sixth in the one-meter (260.65).

Both teams will next be in action January 9 when they host Pacific. Cardinal Diving has had an All-American in 26 of the last 27 years for Schavone and at least two for the last 13 seasons. Hostage, Eichenseer, Stellar and Dwight Dumais are each All-Americans on this year's eight-member squad.
