LAS VEGAS, Nev. - April Cook and KiKi Moore each scored in double figures, but the Washington State women's basketball team fell 68-64 to Boise State in the championship game of the Lady Rebel Round-up at Cox Pavilion. The Cougars dropped to 2-3 on the season, while the Broncos remained perfect at 7-0.

'I'm very proud of this team,' WSU Head Coach June Daugherty said. 'We fought hard in a close game, we just weren't able to come away with the win. Sometimes that will happen with a young team, but we will learn from this and grow.'

Cook, a sophomore guard, scored a team-high 19 points, and Moore, a freshman guard, added a career-high 18 points. Both Cook and Moore have scored in double figures in every game this season.

The Cougars led for all but 11 seconds of the opening half, holding the Broncos to 32.4 percent from the floor (12-of-37), including 1-of-10 from the 3-point line. WSU led by as many as eight points, but entered intermission with just a one-point advantage (30-29).

Boise State regained control of the lead early in the second half, and as the Cougars struggled from the floor, the Broncos were able to build an eight-point lead. WSU cut the lead to one at 65-64 on a 3-pointer from Cook with 45-seconds left on the clock, but the Broncos were able to hold on for the win.

Sophomore guard Jazmine Perkins pulled down a game- and career-high 13 rebounds, and sophomore forward Rosie Tarnowski tied her career high with 10 rebounds. Moore recorded a game-high four assists, and tied for the game high with three steals. Freshman center Carly Noyes blocked a career-high three shots, and has now had at least one block in each of her first five career games.

After the longest road trip of the 2009-10 season, the Cougars return home for a pair of games this week at Friel Court. WSU will face Saint Mary's Thursday (Dec. 3) at 6 p.m. and Wyoming Saturday (Dec. 5) at 2 p.m.
