UCLA Defeats UC Santa Barbara, 2-1, To Advance To NCAA Quarterfinals
Los Angeles, CA - In a rematch of the 2006 NCAA Championship game, it was UCLA who came away victorious this year, claiming a 2-1 victory over UC Santa Barbara to advance to the NCAA quarterfinals to face Wake Forest. The Bruins came from behind to win, scoring two unanswered goals after the Gauchos scored the first goal in the 11th minute. Sophomore Fernando Monge tied the score four minutes later, and freshman Ryan Hollingshead

Stanford Ousted By No. 1 Akron
Akron, Ohio - The improbable season of Stanford men's soccer came to an end on Sunday with a 2-0 loss to No.1 Akron. The Cardinal finish the 2009 season with a record of 12-6-2 and trip to the Sweet 16, but could not overcome the top ranked Zips to advance. [Read more]
