Three USC Players Earn Pac-10 Conference Honors

LOS ANGELES -- USC senior outside hitter Jessica Gysin (Los Gatos/St. Francis HS) and sophomore outside hitter Alex Jupiter (Hermosa Beach/Redondo Union HS) were named to the 2009 All-Pac-10 Conference Women's Volleyball Team, commissioner Larry Scott announced today. Gysin earned her second All-Pac-10 selection while Jupiter earned her first selection.

Sophomore setter Kendall Bateman (Manhattan Beach/Mira Costa HS) received honorable mention recognition for the Women of Troy.

Jupiter has 494 kills (4.57 kps) this season with 294 digs (2.72 dps), 68 blocks (0.63 bps) and 576.0 points (5.33 pps) this season. In Pac-10 matches this season, Jupiter has 341 kills (4.94 kps) with 212 digs (3.07 dps) and 385.0 points (5.58 pps).

As of Nov. 30, Jupiter ranks sixth in the nation for points per set and 11th for kills per set. She leads the Trojans with 15 double-doubles this season with 11 of them coming against Top 25 opponents. She has recorded 13 double-doubles in her last 17 matches.

Gysin has 298 kills (3.43 kps) with 256 digs (2.94 dps), 48 blocks (0.55 bps) and 340.0 points (3.91 pps) this season.

Bateman has 1,351 assists (12.51 aps) this season with 209 digs (1.94 dps) and 41 blocks (0.38 bps). She ranks first in the nation for assists per set.
