Women's Golf Midseason Updates

What has the Arizona State Women's golf team been up to since their last tournament of the fall? Read on to find out.
We're No. 1!
The Arizona State women's golf team has maintained its No. 1 status throughout the entire fall season and will enter the spring as the top ranked team in the country. With 958 total points in the Golf World/NGCA Golf Coaches' Poll, the Sun Devils have earned 25 first place points. The reigning NCAA Champions have won two tournaments already this season and look to continue their solid play into the fall.
She's Only a Freshman?!
Jennifer Johnson has had no trouble adjusting to the college game as she currently leads the Sun Devils in the Golf Stat Cup race. Presently ninth in the standings, Johnson leads the freshmen in the standings. A top-10 finish in each tournament, she is currently has a stroke average 71.25. Ryan Herrington of Golf World's College Insider named Johnson as a Mid-Year Freshman All-American.
Speaking of Johnson, she recently represented the United States in The Spirit International Amateur. Johnson helped lead the US to overall and team victories and chipped in for a birdie on the final hole to seal the deal. In all, Johnson shot 11 birdies over the week.
Going Back to School
Former Sun Devil standouts Azahara Munoz, Miriam Nagl and Tiffany Tavee will be competing in the final stage of LPGA Qualifying School in attempts to earn their card. The final stage takes place at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Balance of Art and Golf
Senior All-American Juliana Murcia was recently featured on Sun Devils 101, a program on Fox Sports Arizona produced by the Arizona State University Cronkite School of Journalism. Murcia, who is a sculpture major, showcased a few of her favorite pieces and discussed how she balances the two loves of her life, golf and art. Click here to watch!
