2009 Arizona Football Bowl Game Ticket Information

, Ariz. – The Arizona football team is heading to a second-consecutive bowl game, but this weekend’s showdown at No. Southern California will help determine where the Wildcats are headed.

Arizona (7-4, 5-3 Pac-10) is currently tied for fourth place in the Pac-10 with the Trojans and California. Depending on UA’s result in Los Angeles this Saturday and the outcomes of the Oregon-Oregon State and Washington-California games this week, the Wildcats could be selected to participate in any of the Pac-10’s bowl games designated for the second through sixth-place teams.

The bowl picture will begin to sort itself out on Thursday when the Ducks and Beavers battle in Eugene, Ore. The winner will earn the Conference’s automatic berth in the Rose Bowl. An Oregon win will drop the Beavers into a second place tie with Stanford, the winner of the UA-USC game, and possibly California.

The Holiday Bowl (Dec. 30, San Diego) will have the first pick of the second place teams, followed by the Sun Bowl (Dec. 31, El Paso). Thereafter, the Las Vegas Bowl (Dec. 22, Las Vegas) and the Emerald Bowl (Dec. 26, San Francisco) will choose the fourth and fifth bowl teams. The Poinsettia Bowl (Dec. 23, San Diego) will choose the sixth-place team.
