No. 25 GymDawgs Host Intrasquad Meet Friday

SEATTLE - The Washington gymnastics team will hold its annual intrasquad meet this Friday at 7 p.m. at Bank of America.

This year, the meet will feature an added bonus of the UW men's gymnastics club also competing at the same time. The women will be broken into two squads - the Purple Team and Gold Team - and will compete against each other like a regular-season meet, while the men while only perform individually on each apparatus.

The Purple Team will consist of Hatsune Akaogi, Amanda Cline, Samantha Walior, Kristen Linton, Kylie Sharp and Kailey Hansen. Akaogi and Cline will compete in the all-around, while Walior and Linton will perform on bars, beam and floor, Sharp will compete on vault, beam and bars and Hansen will participate on vault, beam and floor.

The Gold Team features Lauren Rogers, Ruby Engreitz, Phoebe Tham, Haley Bogart, Paige Bixler, Anna Epps and Karen Cain. Rogers, Engreitz and Tham will each compete in the all-around while Bogart and Bixler are scheduled to compete on vault, beam and floor. Anna Epps is slated to compete on bars.

Following the meet, the GymDawgs will host a silent auction in the Founder's Club, where the 2010 team will also be signing autographs.

Entrance to the meet on Friday is free. The Huskies host their first regular-season meet on Friday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. against No. 15 Nebraska.
