Dec. 17, 2009

Linebacker Mason Foster, the Washington football team's leader in interceptions and forced fumbles, has been named to The Sporting News' All-Pac-10 team, the magazine announced today.

Foster, a junior from Seaside, Calif., was second on the team in tackles with 85, including 60 solo stops and seven-and-a-half tackles for loss.

He also led the team with three interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown vs. Arizona), and Foster set a school record with six fumbles forced while also recovering one other fumble.

Foster picked up the UW's Earle T. Glant Tough Husky Award at the team's postseason banquet.

Wednesday, The Sporting News named tailback James Johnson, wide receiver James Johnson and cornerback Desmond Trufant to its Pac-10 All-Freshman Team.
