GymDawg Journal: Ruby Engreitz

Hi GymDawg fans,
It is finally meet week! This Friday night, January 8th, is our first meet of the season against Nebraska. After a long holiday break spent with family and friends we are back in gymnastics mode and working harder than ever to be completely ready. I can't wait to be out in front of a crowd again with my teammates from last year, and see the freshmen compete in their Husky debut. Hope to see you there!
I spent my break with my grandpa in Port Wing, Wis., a little town along Lake Superior in northwestern Wisconsin, so I had a wonderfully white Christmas complete with about twelve inches of snow. My grandpa owns an apple orchard that they harvest in the fall, so we were scrambling to use up the last of this year's apples in all our holiday dishes- apple sauce, apple crisp, apples in salad, apples in stuffing, apples in turkey... the list was unending. It was all delicious, but I might be staying away from apples for a little while longer.
Since the dorms were closed last week, Amanda, Hats and I had Phoebe and Kailey staying with us at our apartment. We had a lot of fun with our full house, and we definitely kept busy with lots of movie nights, game nights and team activities like our team holiday dinner at Maggiano's and team photoshoot. It was a great week for team bonding!
Don't forget: January 8th, Bank of America Arena, 7:00 pm... be there.
