Heyyyy gym dawg fans!!!
Sooo, it finally came... the first meet of the year!! After a long, strenuous pre-season, it felt amazing to be out there on the competition floor. Hopefully, you guys were able to come and watch our meet against Nebraska!! As a team, one of our themes this year is going out and enjoying each and every meet and we did just that. All in all, I think we are ready for a successful season and we have the talent and dedication to do great things. This first meet has me excited to see what we are going to accomplish as a team this year!!
Congrats to the freshmen, competing in the very first meet of their collegiate careers. I am sooo proud of all of them. As for the meet - vault and bars did not go as well as we had hoped but as a team we finished strongly on beam and floor. Before floor, we challenged ourselves to hit all seven (including Amanda's exhibition) of our floor routines to end the meet on a high note. We did just that and ended the meet showing the potential we have this year. This Monday, we came into practice knowing which areas to focus on and had a great week of practice. We are ready to get on the competition floor again tonight!!
As for the school side - winter quarter classes started last week so we kept busy getting back into the swing of things with class, practice, tutoring, etc. After a couple weeks off, it takes a while to get back into our regular daily schedules.A quick thank you to all the Husky fans that showed up at the last meet!! We really appreciate all your support. You all make home meets so much fun!! Hope to see you tonight at our meet against (the currently ranked number 1 team in the country)... UCLA!!! I'm excited and hope you guys are too.
GOOOO DAWWWGSS!!Love, Anna
