UCLA Baseball Alumni Game Slated for Saturday, Feb. 6
Jan. 18, 2010
LOS ANGELES - The 2010 UCLA baseball season is just around the corner, and the annual UCLA baseball program's 'Alumni Game' is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 6. As in years past, this season's Alumni Game is free of charge to the public.
With a recent change in NCAA rules, the current UCLA baseball team will be allowed to play the Alumni Team in an exhibition contest that afternoon. The day's events will begin with batting practice at 9:45 a.m., followed by the 'Old-Timers' Game at 11 a.m. Baseball alumni from the 1930s through 1979 are encouraged to play in the 'Old-Timers' Game.
The day continues with the current UCLA baseball team facing the 'Young-Timers' Alumni Team at 12:35 p.m. Baseball alumni from 1980 through 2009 are encouraged to participate on the 'Young-Timers' Team. Following that game, food and refreshments will be available to former players and their families along the left-field line.
Registration for the Alumni Game is being coordinated by Trevor Ryan, UCLA's Director of Baseball Operations. To RSVP, e-mail Trevor Ryan at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 310-794-8210. Alumni are encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible.
The UCLA baseball program would love to see as many of its former players back at the ballpark to honor the baseball program's alumni. Check-in begins that morning at 9 a.m.
