Prugh Second After First Round of Bob Hope Classic

La Quinta, Calif. - Former Husky standout Alex Prugh finds himself near the top of the leaderboard at the Bob Hope Classic after shooting a first round 8-under 64 on Wednesday. Prugh, who lettered at Washington from 2004-07, is in second-place at Silver Rock Resort two stokes behind Shane Bertsch.

Prugh had 10 birdies on the day, including five on the first eight holes, to make his presence felt early. He bogeyed No. 11 and 13, but birdied No. 14 through 17 to get 8-under.

Prugh will tee off at 10:45 a.m. on hole No. 10 Thursday morning.
