Recap | Final Stats

Head Coach Joanne Boyle

'I thought it was a great game for our kids. I thought we showed a lot of growth. I thought they did a great job executing the game plan. Obviously for our benefit, it was going to be more of a defensive game. I thought they did a great job of holding them in the 60's when they are averaging almost 90 points per game. I thought we did a great job of handling the pressing and holding them to 62 points.'

'We're pretty athletic. We can get up and on people. We can switch on some screens. We were 'no threes and no layups'. We wanted to make them as much of a mid-range team as possible. I think they got loose a little bit early in the second half, but other than that, I thought we did a great job not letting them get open looks.'

'Paul has done a great job with this team. He has put them in a position to be successful. This is a great system for the personnel he has. One of the things you can see the growth of this year is you can see they are competing, that they want to play physical. Canepa and the other post players will bang with you down low and they will get on the ground for loose balls. We were fortunate enough to come in and steal a win on the road.'

'Our team this year is the team that has been in the best shape. We started preparing for this in July to get ready for this. We're athletic and we like to get out and run and push tempo. We have been playing games where this is more like our style. As long as we are making baskets. We have a deeper bench this year and that helps us too.'

'We made them take tough shots and we didn't give them second chance points. I thought our posts played physical tonight and our guards chased down long threes. They were committed to getting that ball and not getting second chance points.'

On the play of Eliza Pierre and Natasha Vital

'Unbelievable, both of them. Eliza defensively. She did a really good job of making choices on offense. Tasha did a really good job. She is out of her slump. She played strong. She played confident. And she did some really nice things offensively. I think she led our team really well.'

On starting Brenna Heater

'With a young team, we are looking for something. We are looking for some scoring. Or looking for different things. Practices during the week a lot of times determines whether the rotation is going to stay the same or change.'
