In the No. 2 position, Naydenova, paired with senior Natalia Toporowska, defeated Zamudio and Legaspi 8-4. Masschelein and Huh swept Brady and Curry 8-0 in the third position.
'We made a very good effort today.' Said head coach Vicky Maes, 'The girls did a great job in singles starting off. It wasn't easy, and three of our matches went into their third set. The matches all went our way, and I know that wouldn't have happened last year. The girls were mentally tough when they needed to be, and they know to keep it up, because the matches are only going to get tougher from here on out.'
Next up, the Wildcats will host in-state rivals Northern Arizona on Saturday, January 30 at noon at the LaNelle Robson tennis center.
