Bruins Fall To California In Swimming & Diving Action

UCLA fell to California 167-128 on Saturday in Pac-10 swimming and diving action. Brittany Beauchan, Laurence Delisle and Karina Silva led the Bruins with individual event wins.

Silva led a Bruin sweep of the top three places on three-meter with her winning score of 297.75. The junior also placed second on 1M with a score of 249.68.

Beauchan won the 100 breast for the second time in as many days, touching first in a time of 1:02.68 (NCAA B). The junior has only lost one 100m breaststroke event in dual meet competition this season. Beauchan also placed second in the 200 breast with a time of 2:14.71 (NCAA B).

Delisle won the 200 back for the second straight day, winning with a time of 2:00.73. She also placed second in the 100 back with a mark of 56.71.

UCLA fell to 5-3 (2-3 Pac-10), while California improved to 5-1 (3-1 Pac-10).

The Bruins will next face USC on Saturday, February 13 in the final home meet of the season. The meet will also mark the end of the regular season.
