The victory puts the Golden Bears among the field of 16 competitors in the ITA National Team Indoor Championship at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis., Feb. 12-15.

The Bears opened the day by capturing the doubles point for the third time in three matches. Junior Marina Cossou and senior Kasia Siwosz defeated Tatsiana Kapshai and Maria Meliuk, 8-4, on the second doubles court to give Cal the initial edge. The Bears' freshman tandem of Tayler Davis and Annie Goransson finished things off with an 8-2 win over Gayane Sarkisian and Aileen Tsan at court three. With the doubles point decided, the match at the top court was suspended.

No. 83-ranked junior Mari Andersson earned a second point for the Bears as she took out Kapshai at court three, 6-2, 6-2. Moments later, Goransson helped Cal pull out to a 3-0 lead as she took a 6-0, 6-1 win over Clarisse Baca at court five. Siwosz added a fifth point for Cal as she defeated Tsan at court four in a third-set super-tiebreaker, 10-5. Siwosz dropped her first set, 5-7, but came back to win the second set, 6-0. At the top court, No. 2-ranked sophomore Jana Juricova surrendered her first set since Oct. 26, 2009, as No. 26-ranked Katrina Zheltova recorded a 6-4 win.
