Men's Golf Kicks Off Spring Season In Hawai'i

HILO, Hawai'i - The Washington men's golf team kick starts its 2010 spring season this week at the Hawai'i-Hilo Big Island Classic, hosted by the Univeristy of Hawai'i-Hilo at the Mauna Lani Resort North Course.
The three-day event features six of the top 10 and 11 of the top 20 Division I programs. Amongst the golfers are five of the top seven and 13 of the top-20 individuals in the collegiate ranks.
The Huskies, ranked No. 8 by GolfWeek, will be buoyed by a lineup of three seniors, a junior and a freshman. First-Team All-American Nick Taylor, the No. 4 ranked player in the nation, leads the way for Washington. He is joined in the lineup by senior classmates and fellow All-Americans Darren Wallace and Richard Lee. Tze Huang Choo and freshman Charlie Hughes round out the Husky lineup for the week.
Taylor is coming off a fall season that saw him record top-10 finishes in all five events he entereed. Lee had a nice fall too, recording a second-place finish at the Topy Cup and sixth place finish at the Western Refining College All-American Golf Classic.
Joining the Huskies in the talented field are No. 1 Oklahoma State, Stanford (2), Florida State (4), Arizona State (6), Texas Christian (7), Texas (8), Oregon State (13), UCLA (14), Georgia Tech (17), Texas Tech (19) and USC (21).
