Men's Soccer To Host Signing Day Celebration
Feb. 1, 2010
SEATTLE - The Washington men's soccer team will host a signing day celebration on Friday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. in the Conibear Shellhouse where they will introduce their 2010 recruiting class along with new assistant coach Brandon Prideaux.
Family, friends and guests are welcome to attend the event and meet the eight new players who will join the Huskies in 2010. Additionally, recent MLS retiree and new assistant coach Prideaux will be present to talk about how he hopes to help head coach Dean Wurzberger lead the Huskies back into the NCAA Tournament.
Prideaux, who won two MLS Cup titles in his 12-year career, is a former Husky himself, having served as a team captain his last two seasons (1996-97) and being chosen as a third-team Academic All-America selection. He was also a first-team Mountain Pacific Sports Federation member and was the anchor for the UW defense that led the nation in lowest goals against average.
The Huskies will return seven starters to the pitch in 2010, including their top four leading scorers from last season.
