NCBWA Preseason Poll Has Oregon State Baseball Ranked 18th

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The fifth and final major collegiate baseball preseason poll has been released, and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has the Beavers ranked 18th, it was announced on Monday. The ranking comes on the heels of Oregon State's No. 17 ranking the top 25 preseason poll, which was also released Monday.

The Beavers are now ranked in the top 25 in each of the preseason polls. OSU's highest ranking is No. 10 by Collegiate Baseball, and the Beavers are also 14th in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll and 25th in the Baseball America Top 25.

The average of OSU's five rankings is 17th.

The NCBWA poll lists 35 teams and the Beavers are one of four teams from the Pacific-10 Conference to be ranked. Arizona State is No. 8, with UCLA 27th and Stanford checking in at No. 30.

Texas is ranked No. 1, followed by LSU. Virginia is ranked third, while Cal State Fullerton is No. 4 and Rice is No. 5.

Also on Monday, single-game tickets went on sale. Single-game tickets for the 2010 season are $20 for reserved and $10 for outfield seats located beyond the right-field fence.
