UCLA Baseball Ranked No. 27 in NCBWA Preseason Poll

DALLAS - The UCLA baseball team has been ranked No. 27 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) in a preseason top-35 poll, as announced by the NCBWA on Monday. The Bruins are one of four Pac-10 teams listed among the poll's top 35 programs.
Along with UCLA, No. 8 Arizona State, No. 18 Oregon State and No. 30 Stanford represent the Pac-10 in the NCBWA's preseason poll.
Texas has earned the No. 1 slot, and is followed by defending NCAA champion Louisiana State, Virginia, Cal State Fullerton and Rice in the top five spots, respectively. Florida State, UC Irvine, Arizona State, Georgia Tech and Florida round out the poll's top 10 selections, respectively.
UCLA will play 31 of their 56 regular-season games against teams either ranked or receiving votes in the NCBWA's preseason poll.
The Bruins open their 2010 campaign in the third annual Urban Invitational, hosting Southern University at Jackie Robinson Stadium on Friday, Feb. 19. Game time is 6 p.m.
