Feb. 7, 2010
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - For the third-consecutive PGA event former Husky Alex Prugh recorded a top-10 finish, this time tying for 10th place at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club outside of Los Angeles.
Prugh started the final round tied for eighth, but dropped a few spots on the leaderboard on a day where low scores were the norm. Prugh shot a one-under 70 and ended up 8-under 276 overall to earn $147,200. He has earned over a half-million dollars in the last three tournaments.
Prugh, from Spokane's Ferris High School, started his round off on the right foot, carding birdies on No. 1, 4 and 6 to get to 3-under for the round. He would stumble on No. 9 though, carding a double-bogey to fall back to 1-under.
He would birdie No. 10 but bogey No. 12 and would card pars the rest of the way.
Steve Stricker won the tournament by two strokes, shooting a 16-under 268 overall.
