Men's Soccer Announces 2010 Spring Schedule

SEATTLE - The Washington men's soccer team announced its 2010 spring schedule, which includes two games at Husky Soccer Field and a friendly against the Seattle Sounders FC for the second straight season.

The Huskies kick off the spring season on Friday, March 5 against the University of British Columbia at Husky Soccer Field. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Huskies will then play five games in April, starting Monday, April 5 when they play the Sounders at Starfire Sports Complex, a match that will be closed to the public.

UW returns home to play Portland on Saturday, April 10 at Noon at Husky Soccer Field, before traveling down to Corvallis, Ore., to play Oregon State on Saturday, April 17, also at Noon.

The Huskies complete their schedule with a pair of games in Western Washington, first with a contest against Kitsap Pumas on Saturday, April 24 at 5 p.m. at Bremerton Memorial Stadium. The spring concludes on Friday, April 30 when UW will play cross-town rival Seattle U at Starfire at 7 p.m.

Washington is coming off a 2009 season in which it posted an 5-7-6 overall record. They return seven starters in 2010 from that squad, including leading scorers Brent Richards and Ryan Moore.
