GymDawg Journal: Kylie Sharp

Hey Gymdawg fans,
I have been enjoying my freshman year so far. I had a couple of injuries in the fall that I have been trying to recover from, but I am finally starting to get back and I have been able to train more. College is a lot of work, but it is all worth it, I promise. You meet so many new people and being on the team is amazing!
We just got back from our first quad meet in California. We competed against Stanford, Sac State, and San Jose State. We did really well. We came in second with a 194.075. We had a couple of mistakes that we know we have to work on in practice, but we improved on the road and that was our goal. I had a lot of fun at this meet. It was really hectic in the arena with four different teams competing at the same time, but I felt like we did a really good job staying together as a team and having each others backs.
This meet was really exciting for the freshmen because it was our first meet that we got to fly out of state for to compete. It was a little different because when we are home all of the freshmen go down to the locker room, play music and get ready together. We didn't have a locker room to go to, so we decided to go to Paige's room to get ready so we could do our normal routine. All of us freshmen get along really well. We are all so close. I don't know what I would do without those girls.
I am already getting excited for our next home meet this Saturday against Arizona State. I wish my parents could come down for it, but my mom just came down for our meet against Utah. I had not seen her since Christmas so it was really nice to see her and be able to hang out with her all day long Saturday. I love you mom!
I guess I will end this by saying keep working hard, never give up and live life to the fullest every day. Hope to see you all this Saturday at two.
